Does anyone know where I can find samples of debt negotiation and settlement letters to send to my creditors?

I have charge-off and collection accounts listed on my credit report that I am willing to pay, but I want to send letters to each creditor so that they can agree.

You should send them a validation letter first! Don’t pay them if you don’t have to! Make them validate the debt first!

At the same time, send the credit bureaus a dispute letter, disputing the negative items. They may remove some of them from your report.

    Hello,

I do this daily for clients.

#1 do not agree to pay anything yet.
#2 Do not talk on the phone to collectors.
#3 After and IF the collector validates the debt only offer 30% of whats owed and only if they will delete the trade line. If they wont delete it really does not help your score to pay it of. I know this is a fact.

Buy ot following this advice and just agreeing to pay could re age these accounts up to 7 yrs and 180 days.

    Please be carful

    DEMAND TO VALIDATE DEBT
    April 17, 2007

    Fill in Debt Agency here

    To whom it may concern,

I am formally requesting that you validate the debt in which your company claims I owe. I have enclosed all information I have regarding the debt. In addition to your validation of this debt that I do not believe I owe, I request that you please do the following:

1.Explain what this money that you say I owe is for.
2.Demonstrate how you calculated what you say I owe.
3.Provide me copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe.
4.Produce Proof you are licensed in my state, and provide me your license number.

Due to possible inaccuracies, your lack of investigation before attempting to collect this debt, and that you have unlawfully reported this debt to the credit reporting agencies, I must demand that the validation I hereby lawfully request be in the form of a notarized statement by a person with original knowledge of the debt as it was constituted and who can testify that the debt was incurred legally, was not subsequently disputed as a result of returned, faulty, or recalled consumer products, was not utilized as a profit-loss tax deduction during the period it may have been payable, and was not claimed as a loss with any insuring entity during the period it may have been payable.

Please be advised that I am not requesting a verification that you have my mailing address; rather, I am requesting validation, i.e., competent evidence that I had some contractual obligation sans consumer protection encumbrance which incurred the original claims associated with this trade line.

Please know that you have 20 days from the tracked and confirmed delivery of this lawful notice to answer these demands and to remove the associated negative trade line notations from the CRA reports. Any other action may constitute evidence of your intent to abridge one or more civil or other constitutional rights. Please be further advised that continued unsubstantiated reporting of possible inaccuracies to third parties may provide a basis for criminal complaints being filed in accordance with FDCPA, FCRA, and other federal statutes.

You have reported this debt to a credit reporting agency, Your company is obligated by law to tell that agency I do not agree with this debt.

I further demand that your company send results of your investigation and all correspondence to the below address and I look forward to a timely resolution to this matter.

NOTICE TO CEASE AND DESIST COMMUNICATION

Please limit your communication with me in writing only. If I receive any live telephone calls, or repeated dialing and hang-ups from your company, I will consider them to constitute harassment. Please be advised that unwanted telephone calls are a class 1 misdemeanor in this state and I will file a complaint against the caller (individually) and your company with your state’s Attorney General. I am maintaining a telephone log of each call and calls attempted. Notice: This letter serves as written notice that I will make an audio recording of your call.

  4. After I lost my job I have been dealing with evil debt collectors. I almost fell for some of the debt consolidation and debt settlement scams, I came across http://howigotmyselfoutofdebt.org they dont sell anything. I learned alot how those companies operated and what I should do. Don’t fall into another trap.
